1950's Massachusetts Hotrod Discovered after 40 years

This video is a video documentary of the discovery and recovery of an old Massachusetts Hotrod. In todays world hotrods have become somewhat "Trendy" and more main stream with TV shows glorifying major celebrities car collections, and custom car builders buying new parts off shelves and catalogs to fill the need of an industry and to satisfy the demand of the high dollar street rod / hotrod collector. I'm a middle aged hotrod enthusiast who appreciates times past, times that will never exist again. The era of the true , blue collar worker. The backyard hot-rodder and the ingenuity it takes to build a basic hotrod on a budget. Kids back in the 1950's here in New England built some very iconic cars for pennies on the dollar using parts that were available to them from junkyards and donor cars purchased for the parts needed to build their dream car. These old hotrods were constantly updated and modified for drag racing and the pursuit of performance and speed. The discovery of a 1950's Massachusetts Hotrod in a basement of a home on Cape Cod to me...is a big deal. The car is a 1930 Ford Model A coupe that was turned into a hotrod some time between 1957 and 1958. The builder was a young man named Robert Blomberg from Natick Massachusetts, who I believe at the time would have been in his late teens. During my time speaking with his son, we spent a great deal of time researching his late fathers photo albums, that pertained to his hot rodding years as a young man in the Boston Suburb of Natick, Massachusetts. He clearly had a love for this car as he took it with him from home to home throughout his lifetime. He made many noticeable changes to the car over the time he drove it. Including new Metallic light blue paint, whits and black naugahyde interior, lots of home made additions to abide by Massachusetts ever changing automobile laws of the era. Bob clearly had a deep passion for the car and held onto the car or the pieces of the car he needed to one day return it to its former state. A beautiful Massachusetts hotrod. After Roberts unfortunate passing his family reluctantly decided to sell the remnants of his former hotrod and I happened to be the fortunate person to be able to purchase the car from his son. over the past week through countless hours of researching the photo collection of the car, I have been able to uncover some great information pertaining to Robert and his Beloved Coupe. Follow along on this journey as I tell the story of Bob's Rod and unearth the history that makes this car unique and also a piece of Massachusetts history.
