He Went Viral In Jail… Women Wanted Him Released | Mbuso Zulu

This week on The In’s Podcast, we sit down with Mbuso Zulu, also known as “Ibhantinti le Country.” A man who once went viral on social media while incarcerated, with many people questioning why someone like him was behind bars. In this episode, Mbuso opens up about his full journey, from his upbringing and what pushed him into crime, to his first arrest and the harsh reality of life in prison. He breaks down what people think jail is like versus what it actually is, sharing real stories about survival, inmates, and the mental pressure of being behind bars. He also speaks about being released, trying to rebuild his life, and getting arrested again while still on bail. One of the most emotional parts of the conversation is when he talks about losing communication with the mother of his child while in prison, and the pain of being unable to protect or support his loved ones. Today, Mbuso is focused on changing lives through Sengashintsha, an initiative he started in prison to improve conditions and guide young people away from crime. His message is simple: Don’t wait to change when it’s too late. Join the discussion in the comments: What helped shape you into the person you are today?
