This video is for competitive FPS players who use KovaaK's, Aim Lab, or other aim trainers but feel like their improved aim isn't translating into games like Valorant, CS2, THE FINALS, Apex Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, Marvel Rivals, or Overwatch 2. If you've ever wondered why you can hit high benchmark scores but still lose gunfights, this video explains why.
Aim trainers absolutely work—but many players accidentally train only one part of aiming. In this video, I explain why mouse control is only one piece of the aiming system, why isolated aim training creates incomplete players, and how movement, positioning, prediction, timing, and game sense often matter more than raw mechanics during real fights.
We'll cover why aim trainer scores don't always translate into ranked performance, the science behind perception-action coupling, why some players with average mechanics consistently outfrag mechanically gifted players, and how to build aim that actually performs under pressure.
If your goal is to improve at competitive FPS games instead of just climbing the KovaaK's leaderboard, this video will help you rethink what aiming really is.If this video helps you, consider subscribing and joining our Discord community where competitive FPS players improve together through discussion, VOD reviews, and ranked play.

WHO I AM
Outside of gaming, I’m a manufacturing engineer working at a radioactive brain implant startup to treat brain cancers. I have placed 1st at the UW Engineering project competition sponsored by Starbucks. I’ve also developed and launched my own game on Steam to reach $12,000 peak single-month revenue.
Combining my engineering background with my FPS expertise, I have created Gridshot Lab. This is my platform for sharing the unique improvement systems I developed to hit the leaderboards in any game I play. I will also be documenting the development of the first of its kind aim training mice that actually improve your performance in-game rather than just shaving off a few grams.
