Yamaha V Star 650 (XVS650) oil change, service and pre-trip checks before a big motorcycle road trip! Howdy all, Tim here Before I head off on a multi-day ride from Warrnambool, Victoria, to the National Motorcycle Museum in Nabiac, NSW, and on to Coffs Harbour, it's time to give the old girl some attention in the shed. There's a fair bit of road ahead, and the last thing I want is to be stuck on the side of it wishing I'd checked something before leaving. *WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE SHED?* In this episode, I'm getting stuck into some Yamaha V Star 650 maintenance, including: Changing the engine oil and replacing the oil filter Checking the spark plugs Inspecting tyre condition and tread Checking tyre pressures Inspecting the battery connections Checking the final drive (shaft drive) oil Nothing too fancy. Just some hands-on motorcycle servicing and some pre-trip checks to help get the Yamaha ready for the kilometres ahead. *THE ROAD TRIP* The plan is to head north from Warrnambool to visit the National Motorcycle Museum in Nabiac, then continue on to Coffs Harbour. But first things first. Let's get the bike sorted! *OVER TO YOU!* What's the one thing you always check before heading off on a long motorcycle ride? Drop it in the comments! I'm always keen to hear what other riders do, and you never know, we might all pick up a handy tip. 👍 *WELCOME TO TIMY2WHEELS* I'm Tim, a motorcycle enthusiast from Warrnambool in South West Victoria, Australia. I enjoy pretty much anything on two wheels, whether it's cruising on the Yamaha V Star 650, exploring on the CFMOTO 450MT, motorcycle touring or getting my hands dirty in the shed. If you're into motorcycles, DIY maintenance and the freedom of the open road, hit subscribe and come along for the ride. Thanks for watching, and I'll catch you on the next one!
