Expedite - Na Leo TV Youth Media Challenge 2025

For the second year in a row, the Hawaii Police Department was proud to be the sponsor of Na Leo TV's 2025 Youth Media Challenge Public Safety category, in which youth ages 11–24 submitted short films, PSAs, and digital art. Students in different age brackets submitted digital media projects featuring police related topics, such as domestic violence, drug use, cyber bullying, and traffic safety. Mikey Evans won first place in the Emerging Creators category, for his short film, "Expedite". Expedite was created to bring awareness to the importance of motorists moving over when first responders are enroute to an emergency situation. In this film, we watch as an officer on patrol in the area of a devastating traffic collision tries to quickly respond to the scene to render aid to critically injured crash victims. Her response is slowed considerably as inconsiderate and distracted drivers refuse to move over.
