Wanted to try and practice some new ideas/skills while also uploading a set. As usual, the description will be me discussing what I tried and where I need to improve. My main goals for the set were to focus on: (1): Gathering info through out the set to figure out a gameplan to attempt while also keeping my options low commit until I was ready to make a read (2): Use slow positioning to gather more info, block things out at range, and attempt more ground control. (3): Use my movement to weave/avoid attacks, gather more info, and feint for reactions/develop a rhythm to break. (4): Once I realized Worm0237 was trying to anti-air, attempt anti-anti-airs. I achieved goal (1) and (3) from the beginning to mid game but it fell apart later on. I used my movement to develop an idea for my opponent then broke the timing a little bit. I struggled with (2), I did position very well early on in the set and (4) worked until I did not adapt fast enough. Where do I need to improve? I should have not forced an anti-anti-air gameplan later on, I got too hyper focused on trying to smack Worm but in reality they already found the counter. I should have taken advantage of Worm looking for anti-airs/me jumping to take an initiative. I could have also focused back on early round positioning, even changing timings on when I jump or change rhythm by standing still more. Weaving was an effective tool, I could have reinforced that but that comes at the cost of not gaining meter. TLDR: Focus more on not forcing a gameplan, when things are not working back off and gather more info (Do not force it), and keep on doing good positioning/rhythms to keep opponent guessing.
