RUSSIA BUILDS 190 SHAHEDS A DAY — So Ukraine Hit Where They're Stored

Russia now builds about 190 Geran (Shahed-type) attack drones a day, according to Ukrainian intelligence. So on Oct 28–29, 2026, Ukraine went after what those drones need to fly: Ukraine's General Staff says it hit a Geran storage depot, a drone launch site and a fuel depot near Navlya in Russia's Bryansk region (~44 mi / 70 km from Ukraine), plus two radar stations near Starodub and Medvedovo and two drone control posts near Vitovka and Savlukovo. By Ukraine's count, it was at least the third strike on Navlya this year. Also: an unexplained fire at Marinovka air base (Volgograd region). We count what Russia's drone war lost — in drones, gallons and radars. 0:00 190 Shaheds a day — and the base that launches them 0:33 The map: Navlya, Starodub, Medvedovo, Marinovka 1:06 What a long-range drone needs: four things 1:26 The night, hour by hour 2:18 Remember this number: 180 2:31 Line 1 — the Geran depot 3:07 Line 2 — the launch site (150+ drones per attack) 3:59 Line 3 — the fuel 4:32 Line 4 — the radars and control posts 5:02 Marinovka: a fire with a question mark 5:35 180, again: Russia's quiet nights 6:14 What Russia spent defending 6:47 Why it matters: Dnipro station 7:07 The night's total How we counted (official claims and our estimates; full table in math.json): • Hit list — Ukraine's General Staff, Oct 29, 2026, 12:09 Kyiv: https://t.me/GeneralStaffZSU/42729 (not independently verified; no video released; radar types not disclosed). • Navlya launch site: 3 fixed launch rails, 19 drone garages, 3 concrete hangars (satellite images, Dec 2025): https://militarnyi.com/en/news/russians-ex... · capacity "at least 150 drones in a single attack" and the August 2026 strike on underground fuel/warhead stores: https://militarnyi.com/en/news/storage-fue... · April 2026 strike: https://www.ukrinform.net/rubric-ato/41091... • Production: ~2,800 Geran-2 + ~3,000 jet Geran a month (Ukrainian intelligence, Aug 2026): https://militarnyi.com/en/news/production-... → 5,800 ÷ 30 ≈ 190 a day (our arithmetic). • Fuel: Geran-2 with 90 kg warhead — 71 L (≈19 US gal) tank: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HESA_Shahed_136 → 150 × 71 L ≈ 10,650 L ≈ 2,800 gal for one full attack. An ESTIMATE: the depot's contents were not disclosed. • Launches at Ukraine: Ukraine's Air Force nightly reports (t.me/kpszsu), Oct 6–29: 4,324 drones in 24 nights ≈ 180/night; Oct 28: 88 (https://t.me/kpszsu/90990); Oct 29: 112 incl. 40 jet-powered (https://t.me/kpszsu/91189). Bryansk named as a launch direction on 7 nights Oct 15–25, not since Oct 26 — a correlation, not proof. • 1,214 drones "intercepted" over 19 regions — Russian Defense Ministry: https://t.me/mod_russia/68619. 1,214 ÷ 112 ≈ 11. Pantsir-S1 carries 12 missiles (https://missilethreat.csis.org/defsys/pant...) → 1,214 ÷ 12 ≈ 100 loads: a scale comparison, NOT missiles fired. • Marinovka: NASA FIRMS heat spot reported by https://t.me/exilenova_plus/33647, video https://t.me/ssternenko/65403 — cause unknown; not claimed by Ukraine. • Dnipro railway station, Oct 29: 14 killed — Dnipropetrovsk regional administration: https://t.me/dnipropetrovskaODA/32913 • Distances are straight-line, rounded (OpenStreetMap coordinates, Natural Earth border).
