I Went Back for My First Skate... Things Got Interesting

After my first attempt at skate fishing, I wasn't going to leave it there. This time I headed back with a little more knowledge, plenty of big baits, and another long session ahead of me, still chasing my first skate. The fish might not have come to my rod this time, but the session certainly wasn't short of action. A huge skate was landed beside me, a couple were lost, and one unforgettable landing attempt ended with someone discovering that standing on a 165lb skate is perhaps not the best idea. 😂 Every trip teaches something new, and the hunt for my first skate continues.
