How to play: Daniel Caesar | Japanese Denim | Bass cover by Jeff Koy-Ouk

Back in 2017, I took my first vacation in many years, since I started teaching. I had a chance to visit my best friend Scott Avendano and stay with his family in California. We played a lot of music, hit the beach and played Super Smash Bros for hours. It was a bittersweet trip because it was the last time I got to hug Scott's brother, Chris, who has since passed away. During this trip, I became obsessed with Daniel Caesar and I actually listened to this song over 100 times. Every time I hear this song, I always think of Chris. I'm so grateful for this memory and feel incredibly fortunate I got to tell him I love you before heading to the airport to return back to Maryland. Chris was a kind soul and always showed love and support for everything I did musically. I love and miss you lots Chris, thank you for being in my life and for being you! I dedicate this week's bass cover of Japanese Denim to my boy Chris, rest easy brother! We offer private lessons and group classes! We also have FREE lessons on our website. Interested? Let us know!
