Black Knife Remix [Deltarune] "Executioner Delegate"

A little metal remix, featuring the screams of many friends. SPOILER WARNING FOR DELTARUNE CHAPTERS 3 & 4. PHOTOSENSITIVITY WARNING FOR THE VIDEO. So – Deltarune. I'm honestly really blown away by the last couple of chapters. The soundtrack and writing are incredible – somehow, Toby Fox and the Deltarune team have exceeded their already-stratospheric standards of game design. In particular, the mounting narrative with Kris, Dess, and Noelle is delightfully agonising, and terrifying in the best way possible. It's quite incredible how this game handles abuse and mental health. This whole video is very contingent on the Dess-Knight theory, but also draws some inspiration from that Weird Route scene. Musically, this track draws on Census Designated by Jane Remover – I've tried to replicate some of the shoegazey production and the vocal layering. Since Jane Remover is also a fantastic electronic artist, I've utilised various electronic production techniques. In the chorus, there's a waveshaper on the guitars after the amplifier, and the vocals are pretty heavily pitch-corrected. The screaming in the background, likewise, references "Backseat Girl", but also draws on Kris and Noelle's frustration with their powerlessness and figurative/literal possession. CapCut is a bastard that randomly shifts text by frames you already painstakingly lined up. I've given up on trying to sync the text and images in the video, but my God did I try.
