In another major development, Dr Uzma Khan has filed a second contempt petition in the Supreme Court, alleging that government and jail authorities have failed to implement the court’s directives regarding weekly family meetings and phone calls between Imran Khan and his sons. Meanwhile, the UK angle has added another major dimension to the situation. Reports suggest that discussions have taken place around Jemima Goldsmith, Imran Khan’s sons Sulaiman and Kasim, and the British government, with the possibility of seeking assurances that Imran Khan would not make political statements if he were sent to the UK.
