🗺️ About the Turquoise Line 78
The Turquoise Line 78 is part of NCT's Turquoise network, alongside routes 77 and 79.
The traditional City–Strelley section serves areas including Broxtowe, Nuthall Road, Bobbers Mill and Alfreton Road.
In September 2026, NCT extended the 78 to serve **Nottingham Business Park and Assarts Farm**, replacing the former Local Link L2 service in that area.
The expanded service also provides connections to *Phoenix Park tram stop* and a Monday-to-Saturday daytime shopping link to Bulwell Centre.
🩵 Daytime service frequency
From Monday 28 September 2026, the expanded section serving Nottingham Business Park and Assarts Farm operates every 30 minutes during the daytime, Monday to Saturday.
Sunday services follow a different pattern, including the 78B City–Strelley service. Not every journey serves every section, so check NCT's official timetable for the exact route and departure.

The Turquoise fleet also includes Scania N230UD Enviro400s such as buses 648, 656, 658 and 659.
🚌 Turquoise Line buses identified on Tuesday 20 October 2026
Four buses identified on the route that day were:
*650 — YN65 XFJ:* The bus used for this full-route video.
*656 — YN65 XFR:* Another Turquoise Line bus.
*658 — YN65 XFU:* Another Turquoise Line bus.
*659 — YN65 XFV:* The bus believed to appear in the outro photo.
I've ridden bus 650 around three to five times. On a separate journey, I also rode bus 648 for the first time between Phoenix Park and Strelley.
📚 A little history of the 78
Historical records show the Turquoise 77, 78 and 79 network was already operating by 2007.
NCT introduced timetable and frequency improvements over the years, and new Scania N230UD ADL Enviro400 double-deckers joined its fleet during the 2015 period.
The September 2026 extension to Nottingham Business Park and Assarts Farm was a significant more recent change, adding new links to Phoenix Park and Bulwell.
