The Provincial Government of Bohol, under the leadership of Governor Erico Aristotle C. Aumentado, continues to strengthen local vegetable production through the Vegetable Corridor Program, implemented by the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA).
The flagship program aims to develop and expand vegetable-producing areas across the province by providing farmers with appropriate technical assistance, production support, capacity-building, and market linkages through KADIWA, Gagmayng Merkado, and other consolidators.
The program also promotes the use of quality inputs and climate-resilient agricultural practices to increase productivity and improve vegetable sufficiency for Boholano families. As part of the program’s implementation and monitoring, Provincial Agriculturist Liza M. Quirog, MNSA, recently visited vegetable farmers in Valencia, Bohol, gaining firsthand insights into their production activities, experiences, and challenges.
The visit reinforced the Provincial Government’s commitment to ensuring that interventions are responsive to farmers’ actual needs. Through sustained collaboration among farmers, the Municipality of Valencia, OPA, and other agricultural stakeholders, the Vegetable Corridor Program continues to build a more resilient vegetable industry and contribute to a stable and secure food supply for every Boholano household.
