Wolfgang Muthspiel: Etudes/Quietudes | Solo Acoustic Guitar Live

Wolfgang Muthspiel performs the US premiere of Etudes/Quietudes, eleven concert études for solo acoustic guitar, live in New York City. Moving from delicately lyrical textures to dazzling virtuosity, Etudes/Quietudes brings together the precision of classical-guitar technique and the freedom of jazz-derived improvisation. Muthspiel is a recipient of the European Jazz Prize, German Jazz Prize, and Hans Koller Musician of the Year award. Recorded August 16, 2025, at Christ & St. Stephen’s Church in New York City as part of Mastery in Motion, a co-production of Tribeca New Music and the Alternative Guitar Summit. #WolfgangMuthspiel #SoloGuitar #ContemporaryMusic 00:21 Etude 1 03:13 Etude 4 04:55 Etude 5 06:12 Triplet Droplet 09:52 Etude 6 12:16 Etude 7 15:56 Improvisation 2 19:36 Etude 8 21:50 Etude 9 24:39 Etude 10 26:54 Etude 11 28:15 Etude 12 29:08 Etude 13
