STAN LYNCH and the SPEAKER WARS: "Listen To Her Heart" (Live at The Church Studio)

The Church Studio presents Stan Lynch and the Speaker Wars performing Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers "Listen to Her Heart" live at the historic Church Studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma! This exclusive performance is part of the intimate Legacy Concert Series in The Church Studio Live Room, performed to a small audience of about 100 people. SONG: Listen to Her Heart RELEASE DATE: August 1978 SONGWRITER: Tom Petty ALBUM: You're Gonna Get It! (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) ABC Records wanted Petty to change the word "cocaine" in the opening lyrics to the more radio-friendly "champagne," Petty refused. The song received limited airplay as a result — but went on to be ranked No. 5 on Billboard's list of Petty's 20 greatest songs and on Rolling Stone's list of his 50 greatest. This performance carries special weight: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers signed their first record deal with Shelter Records, the label founded by Leon Russell that called The Church Studio home.
