Bringing together HDR candidates, artists, academics and researchers from across Sydney’s arts institutions, this symposium considered how artistic practice operate as a method of research. It asked what kinds of knowledge can only emerge through practice, and how artistic methods challenge, expand or reframe conventional research paradigms. The program was convened by Isobel Markus-Dunworth and Bronte Cormican Jones. and included a keynote presentation delivered by Professor Barbara Bolt, and a panel discussion with leading scholars and practitioners from UNSW, NAS, UTS and SCA.
