The Origin and Evolution of Humans

You carry in your DNA the genetic code of a species that disappeared forty thousand years ago. In this video, we trace the entire journey of human evolution: from Homo heidelbergensis to the Neanderthal, from the first Homo sapiens leaving Africa to the interbreeding with Denisovans in Asia, going through the paleogenomic revolution that rewrote everything we thought we knew about our origins. Including Brazil's role in this history, with Luzia in Lagoa Santa, and the paintings of Serra da Capivara. A three-hundred-thousand-year history that ends inside you.
