Riding the eastbound California Zephyr over the Benicia-Martinez Bridge

Amtrak Train 5 departs Martinez 2 minutes behind schedule and begins its climb up to the Benicia Martinez Bridge, quickly reaching the bridge in 03:40. The train quickly crosses the bridge and the Carquinez Strait by 05:10 beginning a quick decent down into Benicia. We take a quick look back at the bridge at 08:20 as the train reaches the Suisun Slough onward to its next stop of Davis. Video taken 11/18/2025.
