Dragon Quest IX Commentary #137, Tower of Nod: Tower Treasures

This is video #137 in my playthrough of Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies. This video contains commentary. To view the non-commentary version, click here:    • Dragon Quest IX Playthrough #137, Tower of...   North of Coffinwell, the party can find a spot in the east of Western Coffinwell that they can only reach with the Starflight Express. Here, they can find a dungeon called the Tower of Nod (time 0:49). The first floor of the tower is kind of a maze. In the southeast part of the floor, the party can find a blue chest (time 1:13). On the western part of the upper northern walkway, there is a treasure chest containing a Seed of Defence (time 6:21). The stairs up to floor L2 are in the middle of the floor (time 6:31). The stairs to L3 are in the northwest corner of L2 (time 6:48). In the central room of L3, the party finds the stairs to L4 (time 7:06). In the southeast corner of L4, the party finds a stairway leading back down to L3 (time 7:17). There is a blue chest down here that luckily yields Mini Medal #053. After collecting this, the party heads back up to L4 (time 8:57). A couple of pots can be found in the northeast corner of L4 (time 9:29). The stairway to L5 can be found in the eastern room of L4 (time 9:35). L5 is another maze-like area. In the north of L5, a red chest contains Mini Medal #054 (time 10:01). On the middle southern platform, the party finds the stairway that leads up to L6 (time 11:54). A blue chest is in the eastern room of L6 (time 12:08). There are two red chests in the northwest of L6 (time 13:07). One contains a Chronocrystal, the other a Nightmare Gown. Can't really recommend the gown. After the party defeats a couple of Swinoceroses, Debora reaches Armamentalist Level 43 (time 14:16). You go, Deb! The stairs to the roof are in the north of L6 (time 15:02). Here, the party can climb a vine to find a sleeping monster. This will be part of a future quest. When the party gets back down to floor L5 (time 15:38), they go around to the southeast to find a blue chest in the southeastern corner. It gives them a Sorcerer's Stone. From the roof, the party can teleport away with the Zoom spell. They will be back later when they have the quest needed to fight the sleeping boss. Evidently, the Tower also contains King Metal Slimes, which my party did not have the fortune to encounter. Thanks for watching! This video is part of my Dragon Quest IX Playthrough playlist.
