Mahindra has updated the Thar OG and launched it at Rs 10.32 lakh, but most of what has changed sits beneath the surface. The visual updates are subtle and the feature additions modest, yet the driving experience tells a noticeably different story. Over nearly 300km across Jodhpur, covering highways, rough village roads and sand dunes, the new platform does make a case for itself. Ride quality is more composed, the electric power steering is lighter than before, and the suspension hardware has been revised. Mahindra has also added terrain modes and upgraded the braking system, which the company says improves off-road capability. Whether those gains hold up in serious off-road conditions beyond a day's test is something longer-term ownership will answer. On features, the Thar OG has a few gaps that are noticeable at this price point. It is not a car you buy after running a spreadsheet.
