Long before dragons answered mortal voices or enchanted weapons filled the halls of the mountain Forge, there was only a young girl who loved to repair broken things.
Not because they were valuable...
But because she believed nothing deserved to remain broken forever.
She wandered ancient ruins searching for forgotten relics. A cracked staff, a shattered crown, a broken blade—others saw scraps of history, but she saw stories waiting to be restored. When her fingertips touched a fracture, she could hear the memory within it. Wood remembered the forest, stone remembered the mountain, and crystal remembered the stars.
She never learned magic from books.
She simply listened.
One evening, the Master found her restoring an ancient scepter beside a dying campfire. No incantations, no glowing circles—only a quiet melody. As she hummed, silver runes spread across the wood, sealing every crack.
The Master brought her to the hidden mountain Forge.
There she met Ronan, the legendary blacksmith. Rather than treating her as an assistant, Ronan accepted her as his apprentice. He taught her how to forge legendary steel, while she taught him that every weapon carried a spirit that could be awakened. Together they became one craft.
Ronan forged.
She restored.
Their finest customer was a Berserker named Lacklxandler. His battles always left his axe chipped and his armor shattered.
"You break them faster than I can fix them," she joked.
"And you make them stronger every time," he laughed.
Though fierce in battle, Lacklxandler became one of her closest comrades, protecting the workshop whenever Ronan was away and treating the Weaver like family.
The Forge became famous. Kings, hunters, and wandering spirits all brought broken relics to the mountain, expecting complicated rituals. Instead they found the Weaver quietly singing blues melodies while tracing glowing runes through the air. Every note became magic. Every rune gave forgotten relics a second life.
Then the Hunger came.
Not a beast.
Not a demon.
A living emptiness that consumed magic itself.
The mountain's protective wards shattered. The fires dimmed. Ronan raised his hammer while Lacklxandler gathered the Berserkers to defend the gates.
The Weaver silently picked up an ancient broken staff she had never repaired.
She walked alone into the snow.
As the Hunger descended, she began to sing.
Sapphire runes spread across the frozen earth until the mountain itself answered.
Massive stone golems rose from beneath the Forge, their eyes glowing with ancient light.
Then the broken staff erupted with blue fire.
Six obsidian wings unfolded above her as a colossal Rune Dragon emerged, every scale carved from living symbols. Soon the sky filled with dragons woven entirely from runic light.
The Hunger attacked.
The dragons answered.
Lacklxandler and the Berserkers charged beneath their wings, cutting through the creatures pouring from the darkness while Ronan defended the sacred Forge.
Above them all, the Weaver continued her song.
Runes became storms.
Stone giants shook the mountains.
Dragons of sapphire fire rewrote the battlefield.
When dawn finally broke, the Hunger was gone—not destroyed, but rewritten from existence.
Silence returned.
The dragons faded into starlight.
The golems returned to their sleep beneath the mountain.
The Weaver simply smiled, picked up her hammer, and returned to the workshop beside Ronan.
Lacklxandler leaned against the doorway with another broken axe.
"I'll probably break this tomorrow."
She smiled.
"I know."
Legends would remember her as the Lady of the Sigils, commander of dragons and guardian of the Forge.
But to Ronan, she would always be his apprentice.
To Lacklxandler, she would always be his trusted comrade.
And every evening, as the Forge glowed beneath the mountain, she continued mending the world...
One rune at a time.
