D4.2 Stability & Change | IB Biology
Welcome to Parsons Biology!
In this lesson we explore D4.2 Stability & Change from the IB Biology syllabus.
We'll investigate how ecosystems maintain stability in the face of environmental change, exploring the factors that promote resilience, the consequences of crossing ecological tipping points, and the role of scientific models in predicting ecosystem responses. You'll examine keystone species, sustainable resource management, agriculture, pollution and ecosystem restoration, before investigating ecological succession and the processes that shape ecosystems over time. Higher Level students will also explore primary, secondary and cyclical succession, climax communities and arrested succession.
By the end of this lesson, you should be confident with the key understandings, applications and skills required by the IB Biology course.
