So when Somali pirates hijacked an Iranian fishing vessel off the coast of Somalia, it was the Indian Navy that went in. In a 48-hour operation more than 3,000 km from Mumbai, Indian Navy MARCOS, airdropped by an IAF C-17, freed the hijacked Iranian ship Azini and rescued all 20 Iranian crew with zero casualties. Iran’s embassy in New Delhi has publicly thanked India’s government, Navy and Air Force. And this happened on the same day the US struck Iran’s Qeshm Island.
