California state Route 57

California state Route 57 was originally planned to follow a western route through Covina and walnut instead of following it’s actual route through Pomona and Diamond bar. California state Route 57 would of intersected interstate 10 in the location of the present day Forest lawn off of interstate 10 and via verde before continuing south intersecting temple in the hill sides between cal Polly Pomona and Mount San Antonio college. A second eastern route would be for California state Route 57 to curve southeast pass temple leading the freeway to intersect California state Route 60 between Diamond bar blvd and the 60/golden springs road over crossing but it is highly likely there were already houses blocking an independent freeway interchange in this place.
