B.B. King Went to Jimi Hendrix's Apollo Show — What He Did Backstage Shocked Everyone

New York City. December 28th, 1969. B.B. King was in New York for a recording session. He had an early flight the next morning. He was going to sleep. Then his road manager knocked on the hotel door with two tickets to Jimi Hendrix at the Apollo Theater. No name left at the desk. B.B. put on his coat. He sat in the back of the orchestra, where the stage light doesn't reach. He watched. He said nothing. Nobody knew he was there. Then Jimi played the last song of the night — a slow blues with no title. Something he said he wanted to say to the room. The most devastating thing B.B. King had heard in twenty years of listening. After the show, B.B. went backstage. What happened in that narrow Apollo corridor — what B.B. King did when Jimi Hendrix walked through the door — left Jimi unable to speak. And what Jimi said about his father, and the conversation they never had, and the guitar that was the only language he had for it — that was the moment B.B. King understood something he had been turning over in his mind for two years. Less than a year later, Jimi Hendrix was gone. B.B. King kept what Jimi gave him in that corridor for the rest of his life. ⚠️ Disclaimer: This channel produces fictional stories inspired by real-life events.
