Major UK retailers including Argos and Smyths are now selling the Nintendo Switch 2 for approximately £354.99, a massive £65 discount from the new MSRP and even cheaper than the console's original launch price. Currys has also discounted the Switch 2 below MSRP. In this video, we break down why retailers are slashing Nintendo Switch 2 prices, whether Nintendo's recent price hike is already facing resistance, and what these unusually aggressive Switch 2 deals could tell us about demand heading into Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2026. Nintendo Switch 2 sales in the UK have been strong overall, with the console reaching 1 million units sold significantly faster than the original Nintendo Switch. However, the full UK console sales data reveals a more complicated Switch 2 sales trajectory. Switch 2 reached 1 million UK sales in roughly 52 weeks, placing it alongside Xbox One and behind consoles including the Nintendo Wii, PS5, PS4, PS3, and PS2 in speed to the 1 million milestone. UK Switch 2 sales also reportedly increased by roughly one third immediately before Nintendo's September price increase, suggesting some customers moved purchases forward to avoid paying the higher price. We examine whether slowing Nintendo Switch 2 sales velocity could help explain why retailers are already offering major Switch 2 discounts.
