The July Four - Mr. Miff | Guitar Cover

#gtroldie #guitarcover #julyfour “Mr. Miff” is a fascinating piece of obscure 1960s American psychedelic and garage rock. Recorded by The July Four and released in 1967 on the Cameo label, it appeared as the B-side of the single “Frightened Little Girl” The song is an instrumental version of “Frightened Little Girl”, replacing the original vocal and horn parts with a prominent electric guitar. This gives “Mr. Miff” a very different character: more mysterious, atmospheric and psychedelic, with the guitar carrying the main melodic ideas. “Mr. Miff” is built around a simple but very effective harmonic framework in A minor. Chord analysis sources identify the song in A minor, with Em, Am, Dm7 and G forming the main harmonic vocabulary.
