Westland Whirlwind HAR Mk.10, RAF No.230 Squadron, 1969, Corgi 1:72 Diecast Model Review

Corgi Diecast Model Review 1:72 Aviation Archive AA39103 As well as being used extensively by both the Royal Navy and the RAF in Search and Rescue roles, the Whirlwind was also used by the RAF and the British Army as a general transport helicopter, dropping men and supplies into conflict zones and moving items between bases. This particular Whirlwind, XP330, was used in this capacity during the insurgency in Borneo, moving men of the Australian SAS around the jungle to combat patrols by Indonesian forces. It is in roles like this that the helicopter is vital and the Whirlwind excelled. 230 Squadron RAF operated the Whirlwind from the early 1950s until 1971 whereupon it converted to the then new Puma, of which it continues to fly today from its base at RAF Benson. XP330 ended its days being used for fire training before being scrapped. Today's example is from Corgi. It is 1:72nd scale and made of diecast with plastic accessories. The model is of the Westland Whirlwind HAR Mk.10 from RAF No.230 Sqn, XP330, RAF Wittering, England, 1969 I'd like to thank you again for taking the time to check out our video and if you found it helpful at all and can spare the time throw us a like and why not even subscribe ‪@heavymetaldiecast‬ All images/and or footage used with in my videos are owned by their original creators and are only used for a reference guide for viewers to compare against the model depicted in the video.
