Walking the Via de la Plata isn't always easy—and this rainy day proved exactly why! Join me on this challenging stage of my 1000km Camino de Santiago pilgrimage as I trek from the fully occupied Donativo Albergue in Mombuey to Puebla de Sanabria , right before taking a much-needed rest day. From packing my backpack completely in the dark to navigating through the darkness, rain and muddy paths. The reward at the end was entirely worth it. My rest day in the breathtaking medieval town of Puebla de Sanabria was spectacular, complete with a visit to its famous Castle of the Condes de Benavente .
