The disciples watched Jesus pray and saw something different about His prayer life. They eventually came to Him with one request: «“Lord, teach us to pray.” — Luke 11:1» They didn't ask Him to teach them how to preach, perform miracles, or lead crowds. They asked Him to teach them to pray. This reveals something powerful: prayer is a lifestyle that must be cultivated. Tonight, we come with the same cry: LORD, TEACH US TO PRAY. Teach us to pray when we are joyful and when we are under pressure. Teach us to pray when we know what to say and when we don't. Don't compare your prayer life with someone else's. Build your own altar. If you have become inconsistent, start again. If you have become distracted, return to the secret place. If you don't know what to say, ask the Holy Spirit to help you. Your prayer capacity can grow. Your spiritual muscles can become stronger. Your sensitivity to God can deepen.
