Located just 3 miles west of Tomales, CA is the small camping, tourist resort town of Dillon Beach. This quiet resort community in Marin County hosts a beautiful, remote beach. Just adjacent to Point Reyes National Seashore this area offers a more lively setting, with rental cabins, camping, and vacation homes on the bluff. Parking costs $10+ and flush toilets were available.
As you will see all is very dog friendly, with off-leash tolerated. Summer on a northern CA beach is more jackets, hats and backpacks than bikinis. ☺️ Anyway, we had 4 dogs along to walk and join the fun with.
Dillon Beach was originally territory of the Coastal Miwok People before European colonization. In the early 1900’s the California Plantation Company planted the area with Eucalyptus trees only to discover their wood was not suitable as building material. Many old Eucalyptus trees remain in the area.
