Porsche 911 GT3 Bergsport: The Manual 911 Built for the Alps

Porsche is celebrating its long-lasting love affair with Alpine roads with a limited-edition sports car: the Porsche 911 GT3 Bergsport. Classic Driver had a chance to experience the curve hunter in the Swiss Alps prior to its launch. There are few places a 911 GT3 would rather be than a mountain pass at first light, and this one was built for nothing else. Limited to just 100 examples across the four Alpine nations, based on the 992.2 GT3 with the Touring Package and driven the way it should be, through a six-speed manual, the Bergsport is Porsche's love letter to the roads that shaped the brand. We took it up the passes it was made for, chasing curves into thin air, and let the car and the mountains tell the story. From the forest-green paint that glints like pine resin in the sun to the orange brake calipers that echo the alpine glow, every detail points back to one place.
