Windfall to downfall. My new lathe faceplants itself.

I found a bargain lathe for only $1500 and it was great! It was exactly what I had been looking for. The seller was a decent fellow too and very helpful. However the universe had other ideas... My windfall was about to become a downfall - literally! A short time after transferring the funds and Im back home organising my trailer ( to find it had four buggered tyres..) I get a phone call with terrible news... He had been moving the lathe to the doorway for me to pick up and it fell over smashing it and damaging it badly. So he said " I cant sell you that now - I will give you your money back" And so he did. "Im going to send it to scrap now - but if you want it - its yours for free" What a good bloke! I mean how often do we meet decent people on Marketplace? So what to do? Well I need a lathe and even a broken one is better than nothing at all and I could evaluate it here better than there. So I dragged it home. Is it too damaged, too old and too worn out anyhow? Watch to the end and see what unfolds....
