BIG NEWS FOR HARRY & HARRIET! PLANS FOR REBUILDING NEST TO BE LIVE STREAMED OCT 13TH! GREAT LAKES

🦅 GREAT LAKES BALD EAGLE CAM UPDATE: BIG NEWS FOR HARRY & HARRIET! 🪹 We continue to watch Harriet and Harry taking sticks to the north (stick #14 in the screenshot from 9-28-26). Knowing that they love this area and do have nest tree fidelity, we are hoping to entice them to use a newly reinforced nest on-site! We wanted to give all of our viewers a transparent update on our upcoming plans. 👉👉 Tuesday, October 13th (weather permitting) the cam and property owner with a crew from Sunset Tree Removal will be on-site!! 👈👈 🛠️ THE ON-SITE PLAN: • Nest Support: Reinforcing and rebuilding the nest structure for the upcoming season. • Camera Maintenance: Servicing all active cameras to fix recent stream glitches. • Offline Cam Assessment: Evaluating and troubleshooting the status of the single camera that went offline a few months ago. ⚠️ NOTE FOR VIEWERS: We WILL be leaving the live cameras streaming during this process so you can see the work happen! We have received full clearance from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) officials to pursue this conservation project. 👉 HOW TO SUPPORT THESE EFFORTS: We see all of your wonderful comments asking how to support our upcoming conservation efforts for Harry & Harriet! If you would like to help cover our upcoming out-of-pocket camera hardware upgrades, equipment maintenance, and private land logistics to keep these streams running 24/7, you can donate securely here: 📌 Support the project securely: ▪️Venmo: https://venmo.com/u/GLBEC ▪️PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/Great... 📌 PLEASE NOTE: GLBEC is a privately run passion project and is NOT a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Contributions are personal gifts that directly fund camera gear and stream operations, and are not tax-deductible. We appreciate your incredible support so much! Thank you for your continued love of Harriet and Harry! 🦅❤️ Stay tuned for October 13th!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Many thanks to GLBEC & to the land owner for getting these plans approved to rebuild & reinforce Harry & Harriet's nest. I have seen eagles rebuild a nest from scratch in three weeks time. I have also seen bald eagles maintain two or more nests and go back & forth in using them for different seasons. Eagles are hard wired to build nests...it is in their DNA! Harry & Harriet may have begun building a new nest to the North, but they have nest fidelity here and with a little luck, they may return and suddenly discover that adding sticks to the newly built platform is desirable! If we are lucky, Harry & Harriet will work on both nests and then choose this new and improved one for Harriet to lay her eggs in! Talons crossed! If you build it, they WILL COME!
