#MagicWandPour #FionaArt #MinaVillegasArt #AmsterdamPearls #DripPainting #magic Hello My Beautiful People! Welcome back to the Studio! Last week I got a comment on an older video of mine, one that was a Magic Wand Pour. I had several issues with that pour, and actually ended up disliking that pour a lot! My dear friend Fiona from ‪@Fiona-Art‬ has done a few magic wand pours a few weeks ago that were so beautiful that it inspired me to try it again, correcting the mistakes I made in the first one. If you want to see that first pour that did not go as planned, you can watch it here: Fossil: A magic Wand Pour    • Fossil 💫 A Magic Wand Pour! Gorgeous Acryl...   I think the biggest issue with that pour was that I was doing a Wandering Ring Pour and used the last bit of muddied paint in the bottom of my cup.. which mixed with all the other colors and created a very odd pink color. I did not like the palette at all after that muddy color. The second issue was that the magic wand was laying directly on the canvas, instead of being elevated so that it could drip. This time around I have corrected that mistake, and have used a more cohesive color palette, and I am not doing a Ring Pour this time. Mistakes can help you if you listen to them.. Im also using a thicker paint consistency this time, to help avoid blending and to better hold the shape of my lines. Huge thanks to Fiona, for always inspiring me to try new things, and more importantly helping me realize that fear can be overcome. Its just paint.. go play and try new things! I'm using a 16x 20 inch gallery wrapped canvas from Artists Loft today I'm also using an aluminum piece of Speed Rail, which HoA uses to build things with. Colors Amsterdam Prussian Blue Pearl Green + Cyan pigment Turquoise Blue Feral Cloud Mix AL Soft Body White Vallejo Pearl Medium American Floetrol Blick Brilliant Yellow Green Pouring Medium: Golden Heavy Gel Gloss Floetrol There is NO Silicone in Any of My Paint. Observations: I like this pour a thousand times better than Fossil! The color palette is good, I kept those super fine lines created by the drips, and its a pretty piece. That being said, there are things I have learned from this pour that make me want to do it again. I want to try this again, but instead of only tilting it out, I want to use my big spinner and open up the gorgeous drip lines. I am thinking about the best ways to do this, so that I have a bigger drip area in the center and not as much background. I love how Fiona wrecked her pour and turned it into a Feather.. but that did not work for me here. I actually think that the wrecking of my painting got rid of a lot of the very cool drips that I wanted to keep. So now that I know what I'm looking for, I want to do it differently. I would love to know what you guys think of this piece and of this technique.. please let me know in the comments section! Thank you all so much for spending your time with us!
