How Does Christ Make Us Right With God

Most people believe that if their good deeds outweigh their bad ones, God will accept them. It sounds reasonable. But the Bible tells a completely different story. When we sin, we do not just make a mistake; we incur a debt before a holy God. And that debt cannot be cancelled by doing more good things. The good deeds are fine. But the debt is still there. And God, as a just judge, cannot simply ignore it. So how does a sinner ever stand right before God?
