India Today Debate: Is AR Rehman Right Or Just Rabble Rousing? | AR Rehman Interview Controversy

On this Special Report, the focus is on the brewing controversy surrounding legendary composer A.R. Rahman’s hints at communal bias within Bollywood. Political analyst Syed Asad Abbas, actor Nasir Abdullah, philosophy author Rahul Easwar, and author Advaita Kala join the debate to discuss whether the industry is witnessing a shift in ideological dynamics. Rahul Easwar stated, 'When a person of his stature is raking up sensitive and communal issues, it can have unintended consequences,' suggesting that the composer should have been more circumspect. While some panelists defended Rahman’s credibility as a global icon, others like Advaita Kala urged him to 'name and shame' specific individuals rather than making generic statements that cast a shadow on the entire industry. The discussion explores the impact of corporatisation, the rise of propaganda films, and whether the alleged lack of work for veterans is due to bias or changing industry trends. #ARRahman #ARRahmanControversy #IndiaTodayDebate #RahulEaswar #Bollywood #Communalism #IndianCinema #SpecialReport #ShahRukhKhan #AamirKhan #FilmIndustry #Debate #IndiaNews #MusicDirector #Ramayana #SocialIssues Subscribe to India Today for NEW VIDEOS EVERY DAY and make sure to enable Push Notifications so you'll never miss a new video.
