How to add depth to a Character?

In this drawing session, I'm working on an illustration of Danny and his brothers dressed up as anime and cartoon characters! This time, we're moving beyond the line art and getting into one of my favorite parts of the drawing process: creating the shading layer. I've already finished the line layer, so now it's time to add shadows, depth, and dimension to the characters. I'll show you how I approach shading in Procreate and how adding light and shadow can make a flat drawing feel more three-dimensional and bring the characters to life.
