🍫 VIRAL LONDON CAKE | FULL MAKING VIDEO
Welcome back to BhuviBakehouse! ❤️
Today, I'm going to show you how to make the viral London Cake. It's a delicious chocolate cake layered with homemade caramel cream and rich chocolate cream. Let's get started!
1. Caramel Cream
First, take a pan and add 200 g of sugar. Melt the sugar completely until it turns into a beautiful golden caramel.
Now add 100 g of butter and mix well on low flame.
Next, add 180g of cream and keep stirring continuously until everything is well combined.
Our delicious caramel cream is ready!
Transfer it to a bowl, cover it and refrigerate at least 4 hours.
After chilling, whip the caramel cream until fluffy. Transfer it into a piping bag and keep it ready.
2. Chocolate Cream
For the chocolate cream, take 300 g of chocolate.
I'm using:
Semi-sweet chocolate – 200 g
Dark chocolate – 100 g
Whipping cream – 230 g
Butter – 30–50 g
Combine the chocolates with the whipping cream and melt them together.
Transfer the mixture into another bowl and add 30–50 g of butter. Mix until smooth and glossy.
Cover the bowl tightly and refrigerate .
After chilling, take it out and whip until fluffy. Transfer the chocolate cream into a piping bag.
Now both our creams are ready!
3. Chocolate Cake Preparation
Next, let's prepare our chocolate cake base.
First, take 100ml of milk and add 1 tablespoon of vinegar. Mix well and set aside. Our homemade buttermilk is ready.
Ingredients:
Egg – 1
Sugar – 200 g
Oil – 50 g
Buttermilk – 120 g
Maida – 125 g
Cocoa powder – 30 g
Baking powder – 1 teaspoon
Baking soda – ¾ teaspoon
Salt – ¼ teaspoon
Vanilla extract – 1 tablespoon
Hot water – 100 ml
Coffee powder – 2 teaspoons
First, take one egg in a mixing bowl and beat it well.
Add 200 g of sugar and beat again until combined.
Now add 50 g of oil and mix well.
Next, add the prepared buttermilk and mix everything together.
In another bowl, take the maida, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Sieve all the dry ingredients together.
Now gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture in two batches. Mix gently until everything is combined.
Add vanilla extract and mix again.
Finally, take 100 ml of hot water and add 2 teaspoons of coffee powder. Mix well.
Pour this coffee mixture into the cake batter and combine everything.
Don't worry if the batter looks runny. That's exactly how this chocolate cake batter should look!
Before baking, preheat the oven at 180°C for 10 minutes.
Pour the prepared cake batter into a greased cake tin.
Bake at the same temperature, 180°C, for 25–30 minutes, or until the cake is completely cooked.
Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool completely before assembling.
Our soft and moist chocolate cake base is ready! 🍫
4. Cake Assembly
Now comes the interesting part!
Take a square tin or a bread tin, depending on the size you prefer.
Line the tin with cling film so that it's easy to remove the cake later.
Cut the chocolate cake into slices according to the size of your tin. We can make two or three layers depending on our preference.
First, place one layer of chocolate cake inside the tin.
Prepare a coffee soaking syrup using coffee, , chilled water and sugar.
Brush the coffee syrup over the cake layer to keep it moist.
Now pipe the prepared caramel cream over the cake and spread it evenly.
Next, add the chocolate cream and spread it nicely.
Place another layer of chocolate cake on top.
Again, brush with coffee syrup, add caramel cream and then chocolate cream.
Repeat the layers according to your preference.
Finally, place the last cake layer on top.
Cover the tin tightly with cling film and refrigerate.
I refrigerated mine overnight, but you can also refrigerate it for at least 4 hours.
5. Final Chocolate Ganache & Decoration
After refrigeration, take the cake out of the fridge.
Remove it carefully from the tin and apply chocolate ganache on top.
Spread it evenly and refrigerate again for around 20 minutes.
Now our delicious Viral London Cake is ready!
Cut it into beautiful slices and look at those lovely layers of chocolate cake, caramel cream and chocolate cream!
You can enjoy this cake as it is or serve it with a scoop of ice cream.
It tastes absolutely amazing!
