In this episode, I spend my final day in Hampi exploring its most iconic stone monuments and sacred shrines before ending the journey with a sunset over Hemakuta Hill. Starting early from Hampi Bazaar, I take a walking route covering the monumental monolithic statues and royal temple complexes that defined the capital of the Vijayanagara Empire: the massive single-stone Kadlekalu Ganesha, the grand Krishna Temple complex and its ancient sacred bazaar, the colossal and fierce monolithic Lakshmi Narasimha (Ugra Narasimha), and the intricately carved Sasivekalu Ganesha. To wrap up this multi-day backpacking journey, I climb the gentle sloping rocks of Hemakuta Hill in the late afternoon. Dotted with pre-Vijayanagara triple-chambered stone shrines, Hemakuta offers one of the best viewpoints to watch the sun drop behind the Virupaksha Temple gopuram, bringing an unforgettable chapter across Hampi to a close. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS 00:00 - The Final Day in the Vijayanagara Capital 01:10 - Kadlekalu Ganesha: The Giant Monolith on Hemakuta Slope 03:00 - Exploring the Grand Krishna Temple & Ancient Krishna Bazaar 05:30 - The Colossal Lakshmi Narasimha (Ugra Narasimha) & Badavilinga 07:45 - Sasivekalu Ganesha & Open Pavilion Architecture 09:20 - Climbing Hemakuta Hill for Golden Hour 11:15 - Pre-Vijayanagara Temples & Virupaksha Gopuram View 12:50 - The Final Hampi Sunset & Trip Reflections 14:10 - Wrapping Up the Entire Hampi Series 🏛️ MONUMENTS COVERED & VISITOR DETAILS • 📍 Location: Sacred & Royal Centers, Hampi, Karnataka • 🚶 Route: Walking circuit starting from Hampi Bazaar / Hemakuta base • 🎟️ Entry Fees: Free access across all monuments in this circuit • ⏰ Best Time for Hemakuta Hill: 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM (Sunset) • 🎒 Route Tip: Wear easily removable slip-on shoes since multiple active and preserved sanctums require walking barefoot on stone. 📌 TOPICS COVERED • Walking guide to Hampi's famous monolithic Ganesha and Narasimha statues • Krishna Temple history, relief carvings, and pushkarani tank • How to explore the main Hampi Bazaar monuments without hiring an auto • Best vantage points on Hemakuta Hill for photographing Virupaksha Temple • Final budget overview and solo backpacking tips for Hampi If this series helped you plan your trip or gave you a closer look at India's ancient stone heritage on a budget, hit subscribe and join the upcoming backpacking journeys across India! 🔔 Follow the journey: @pravasiakshay #Hampi #HemakutaHill #LakshmiNarasimha #KadlekaluGanesha #KrishnaTemple #HampiSunset #UNESCOWorldHeritage #KarnatakaTourism #SoloTravelIndia #IncredibleIndia #PravasiAkshay
