I've been asked this question too many times.
Do you ever feel like:
Your playing sounds too basic?
You feel like you've hit a plateau?
You really don't know what to practice to get better?
You know the theory but can't seem to apply it?
The MOVE system is the SOLUTION.
In this masterclass, I'll apply it to "Row Row Row Your Boat" in C, borrowing harmony from Ab and A (using the MOVE system)
Most pianists treat each key as its own separate world. In this video I show you how to step outside the key you're in and borrow sounds from other keys, without losing the song.
I take "Row Row Row Your Boat" in the key of C and borrow harmony from Ab and A, using the MOVE system:
Melody: keep it recognizable, even in strange territory
Outside: step into harmony from another key
Voicing: adjust your voicings so it doesn't sound "wrong"
Exit: return home to C
This is a small taste of a bigger idea: the 12 keys aren't 12 separate worlds, but one tonal space you can borrow from, left and right.

I kept the "one tonal space" line as a teaser for the bigger concept.
That also sets up a natural series: each new video can borrow from different keys (Eb, F#, and so on), and the description can end with "Which key should I borrow from next?"
