Here comes anoth'ha Intro & Gamepaly delivr'd to ya straight outta Zeithri's mind!
This is,
Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier
Super Robot Taisen Original Generation Saga: Endless Frontier ( Mugen no Frontier ) was released around 2008 which.. does not make it released 23 years ago which would had made this incredibly poignant but it was released 17 years ago :P I played it back when it was new and in the zeitgeist of SRW fandom. People absolutely LOVED it. I loved it. Though I never played it all the way through, I ended up hitting a sort of wall where it was just too difficult for me to progress and I had ran out of health items so I took a break and... Forgot to return to it. Yes it may be hard to believe but I wasn't always this ultra deluxe gamer that I am today, there was a time when I was just a gamer!
Some of the 'anime-humor' of yesteryear won't land in most cases, in particular the enormous focus on Kaguya's enormous chest. Though it gets easier if you pretend Haken is like Madmartigan from Willow. The game's humor as I recall sure focus a lot on her enormous rack as a primary source of prodding for humor, but it's what was the style at the time in anime stories, the "dumb blonde"-stereotype with the enormous melons. Despite this, Kaguya Nanbu is a fantastic character and one of the mains for her power to wallop enemies. Other humoristic moments will though!
Aschen Brodel is one of my favorite characters in this game since she's based on Lamia Loveless from SRW OG2, who were one of my favorites from that game. And both are in turn based on-- drumroll please... Signum from Magical GIrl Lyrical Nanoha A's! If I recall.. or if it was the other way around. It's a piece of trivia that these days kinda eludes me which came first x3
The music, like all SRW games, is just superb.
Don't even need to say anything else about it.
Top notch!
What I find sad is that no one talks about this game anymore. It had a sequel called EXCEED and later was part of the Project CROSSXZONE game for PSP Vita and then ... the game just kinda vanished and was promptly forgotten completely. Similar story to the A.C.E. series and SRW OG Infinite Battle. And it's a shame because these games ( except A.C.E. ) are really fun, and really good, high quality games.
I strongly recommend you to play Endless Frontier, today.
