no wonder Nolan chose him

A video essay tracing Matt Damon's career. He's Hollywood's most trusted face, and he's spent 30 years quietly using that trust to play soldiers, spies, con men, and stranded astronauts. It opens with a hook about trust surveys, moves through his origin story with Ben Affleck in Cambridge, the Good Will Hunting screenplay breakthrough, key roles (Saving Private Ryan, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Ocean's Eleven, Bourne, The Departed, The Martian, Ford v Ferrari, The Last Duel, Air, Oppenheimer), a real hardship beat (his 2017 Me Too comments backlash), an underrated pick (The Informant!), and closes by tying his current lead role in Nolan's The Odyssey back to the "trustworthy everyman" throughline. #mattdamon #theodyssey #christophernolan #videoessay
