Photographer Benji Reid blends movement and photography to explore vulnerability, creativity, and resilience for his debut short film Expanding the themes of his performance work Find Your Eyes into moving image, photographer Benji Reid explores vulnerability, creativity, and resilience through movement and stillness for his debut short film The Choreo-photolist. “My images often dance between ancient spiritual archetypes and the raw energy of urban life – pulling mythology into the now. Find Your Eyes was a deep dive into my own lived experience. Through photography, movement, and theatre, I searched for a visual language to hold vulnerability, to honour pain, and to celebrate the power of survival.” Coining the term Choreo-photolism to describe his unique practice at the intersection of choreography, photography, theatre, and storytelling, Reid centers a space where performance and the camera meet on film.
