So much of life can rest outside our hands.
A family decision.
A medical result.
A financial process.
Another person’s choice.
A door that opens or closes.
After many years of life, we may understand more clearly how little was ever truly ours to control.
This morning prayer is a time to thank God that even when circumstances change, human decisions matter, and painful things happen, His throne is still occupied.
Nothing we face can take His place.
🕊️ IN THIS PRAYER, WE THANK GOD FOR
1. BEING IN CONTROL THROUGH EVERY SEASON
We remember that God’s authority has never depended on whether life made sense to us.
2. CARRYING US THROUGH YEARS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Many seniors have spent decades making decisions, caring for family, paying bills, solving problems, and being the person others depended on.
We thank God that responsibility was ours, but sovereignty was always His.
3. REMAINING GOD WHEN CHILDREN GROW UP
Our authority over children changes as they become adults, but they never grow beyond God’s care.
4. STAYING SOVEREIGN AFTER PAINFUL EVENTS
Some losses, decisions, and changes cannot be undone.
We do not have to call painful things good in order to believe God is still God.
5. BEING ABOVE HUMAN AUTHORITY
Doctors, employers, banks, offices, professionals, and other people may make decisions that affect us deeply.
Their influence may be real, but it is never ultimate.
6. BEING GREATER THAN A DIAGNOSIS
Medical knowledge matters.
Wise care matters.
But no diagnosis, scan, test result, or condition can define the whole meaning of our lives or take God’s place.
7. HELPING US LIVE RESPONSIBLY WITHOUT FEAR
Trusting God does not mean becoming passive.
We can ask questions, seek wise advice, make careful decisions, protect our finances, receive medical care, and still remember that everything does not depend on us.
👵 WHO THIS PRAYER IS FOR

A family concern can be painful without becoming the throne over your life.
