Built in 2000 by Intamin Amusement Rides, Millenium Force was built at the height of the "Coaster Wars"; every park trying to beat each other over roller coaster records. Things kicked off with 1989's Magnum XL-200... Built by the dead but Legendary Manufacturer Arrow-Dynamics, It broke the 200ft barrier and was the first "Hyper Coaster". In 1991, the park opened Mean Streak... the world's largest wooden roller coaster. However, with time, the ride became rough and unpopular. Today, it's layout and design lives on in Steel Vengeance... widely regarded as the world's best coaster. And of course, in 2000, Cedar Point constructed Millennium Force. It was the first "Giga" coaster, or the first full-circut to reach 300ft. It instantly became an icon, bringing in millions to ride the glass-smooth monster. Compared to most coasters I feature on this channel, Millie has had relatively few issues through it's career. It has operated consistently for 26 years, while remaining one of their most popular coasters too this day. Yes, from around 2017 to 2026, The Seatbelts were intollerable. They were so short, most could not easily reach and clip the belts in. It was such an issue, that dipatches went from around 2 minutes to around 5 minutes... destroying the ride's amazing capacity figures; all the while making many guests do the "Walk of Shame". Thankfully, in mid 2026, Cedar Point and Intamin fixed the seatbelts. They are now reasonably sized... and most guests now have the ability to clip them in themselves. I have personally watched in amazement this year... as the Millie crew has been ready to dispatch trains before the one on the corse has even completed the station fly-by. After years of sluggish and awful dispatch times, Millie is back to her old self. Congratulations Guys... Amazing job.
