14 miles on a treadmill… while being completely over marathon training. At this point in my marathon journey, I’ve been thinking about this race for almost the entire year, and honestly, I was starting to feel burnt out. Marathon training has been taking over my life, and I was struggling to find the motivation to keep pushing. But I had to remind myself that I only have two months left. This is the time to lock in, remember my why, and become the version of myself who actually finishes this marathon. So today, we’re attempting 14 miles on the treadmill at Life Time. This vlog ended up being so much more than just a long run. I had to work through a serious mental slump, deal with some breathing struggles during the run, and use positive self-talk to completely change my mindset. Somehow, that shift helped me push through and finish 14 miles. And because apparently running 14 miles wasn't enough, I spent basically my entire day at the gym recovering: massage bed, protein bar, coconut water, hot tub, cold plunge, and stretching. Marathon training has genuinely taught me how much goes into preparing your body for one goal. From running and lifting to nutrition, recovery, programming, and mindset, there is SO much more to being an athlete than I realized. I'm also learning how to see myself as a hybrid athlete after years of primarily being a weightlifter and now incorporating running into my training. Most importantly, I'm grateful that I get to document this journey with you guys. There are days when I genuinely don't want to show up, and being able to share those moments with you keeps me accountable. You see the good days, the bad days, the motivation, the burnout, and everything in between. 14 miles down. We keep going. Thanks for coming along for the journey :) Instagram:   / julianaashrifeh   #MarathonTraining #MarathonVlog #RunningVlog #LongRun #TreadmillRun #RunningJourney #FitnessVlog #MarathonPrep #HybridAthlete #RunningMotivation
