I wanted to take a closer look at how the town is changing in 2026. Along the way, we'll look at the historic Leeds & Liverpool Canal, cleanliness and maintenance, the condition of the town centre, empty shops, new businesses, regeneration, new paving, road markings and the ongoing works around Manchester Road. Are the regeneration projects making Burnley better? Are the new pavements and road improvements worth the disruption? And could more investment be directed towards some of Burnley's more deprived communities? I don't claim to have all the answers — this is a resident's perspective, and I want to hear yours.
