Democratic Mississippi Senate nominee Scott Colom told reporters today that his Republican opponent Cindy Hyde-Smith “doesn’t have” a path to victory in the unexpectedly tight contest as he urged her to speak out.
With 96% of the votes in, Colom is slightly leading Hyde-Smith but the race is still too close to call.
“I’m very confident it’s moving in my direction,” Colom said, urging Hyde-Smith to “accept reality” and “the will of the voters.”
CNN's Annie Grayer reports and CNN's Dana Bash and her Inside Politics panel of political analysts size up the tight Mississippi race. Also, election expert David Becker explains the remaining vote count process in the Mississippi and Alaska Senate contests.
