Not simply a re-issue, the Gibson Custom Shop has sought to clone the coveted 1957 Les Paul Black Beauty. An electric guitar, dressed up in tuxedo fashion, with a deep black nitro cellulose finish and gold hardware is finished with beautifully contrasting gold pickup covers and hardware. Not to be confused with any other Les Paul, the middle PAF pickup on this mahogany bodied gem is the clearest indicator and this guitar is something different and special. From the "Custom" split diamond inlay on the headstock down, the Black Beauty was designed in 1957 to be the pinnacle of the Les Paul line-up. Using meticulous attention to detail and working from original historic examples, this custom shop creation has been remade as an exact replica, down to the molecular level. It has a special tone and sound unlike any other Les Paul. One could say this guitar has traveled through time to find its way to us today.
